January 24, 2018 Update–I’m happy to report that Religious Freedom in America ( (ABC-CLIO, 2018) is out! The book features my essay “Why Mixing Religion and Political Activity Leads To a Poisoned Chalice: Ending Compelled Taxpayer Support For Religious Political Activity”. While Amazon is still listing the book in “pre-order” status, I received my author copy last week, so it should be available for shipping soon.

My first nonfiction book was Lanza’s Mob: The Mafia And San Francisco (Praeger/ABC-CLIO, 2016), which is also the first published history of the activities of the Italian Mafia to focus on San Francisco. It’s available on Amazon by clicking the image below:

The book is also available through Barnes & Noble  and for Canadians (or for those who want to be as cool as we Canadians are) through Indigo/Chapters

I’m also a  chapter author (“Nietzsche and a Trans Woman Walk In To A Prison”) in Orange Is The New Black And Philosophy: Last Exit From Litchfield (Open Court, 2015) and a contributor to 19,751 Words</em> (Amazon Digital Services, 2015), an anthology of poems from participants in the 2015 Poetry Marathon.
